World smartphone leader, Samsung on Tuesday (14 October) officially launched the Galaxy Note 4 in India.
The company has confirmed that the flagship phablet will hit across Indian stores for ₹58,300 (MRP: ₹61,500) on 17 October. It is interesting to note that Samsung has decided to launch Qualcomm Snapdragon series CPU variant in the subcontinent, unlike previous years, where the devices used to come in Exynos chipsets.
For the uninitiated, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 sports feature-rich super AMOLED QHD (2560x1440p) display with a staggering pixel density of 515 ppi (pixels per inch) and is powered by Android v4.4.4 KitKat (with TouchWiz UI) backed by 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory (further expandable up to 64GB), 16.0-megapixel camera with auto-focus and smart OIS (Optimized Image Stabilization), a 3.7-megapixel snapper on the front and a 3,220 mAh battery.
Other value-added features include- finger-print sensor, a super-fast charging technology, which can power the phone to 50% in just 30 minutes, S-Pen stylus functionality such as - Air Command, Action Memo, Smart Select, Image Clip, Screen Write, S Note, Snap Note and Direct Pen Input feature.
With Galaxy Note 4 India release, Samsung is set to compete with arch-rival Apple, which is also releasing the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on the very same day. Both companies have strategically released their respective flagship smartphones to cash-in during Diwali holidays.
While Galaxy Alpha (₹39,990) takes on the 4.7-inch iPhone 6, Galaxy Note 4 will go head with iPhone 6 Plus.
The South Korean company also launched the Tizen OS powered Gear S smartwatch for ₹28,900 (MRP:₹29,500) on Tuesday.
The new S Gear wristwatch flaunts a big 2.0-inch super AMOLED screen and runs on the company's proprietary wearable platform Tizen.
One striking feature of the S Gear is that it can act as a standalone calling device with being connected to smartphone. It is compatible with 2G/3G network and can also take calls from the companion smartphone via Bluetooth with the ability to switch between the two networks.
