Samsung's popular mid-range smartphone series Galaxy Grand 2 finished its year cycle just a few weeks ago. Now, its successor Grand 3 specifications have surfaced online hinting the launch of the device is just around the corner.
An un-named Samsung device code-named SM-G7200 has reportedly passed the Chinese- governed telecommunication department TENNA certifications. It's similar to the USA's FCC (Federal Communications Commission).
Though there is no mention of the commercial name of the device, technology blog PhoneArena believes this mystery phone to be the upcoming Grand 3 handset.
If we closely observe the code-name SM-G7200, it is similar to the previous Galaxy Grand series models. They too had similar SM-G7 series alpha-numeric codes. Grand 2 models were numbered- SM-G7100 (Single-SIM), SM-G7102 (dual-SIM) and SM-G7105 (LTE). Now, going by the incremental serial-coding - SM-G7200, is most likely to be the upcoming Galaxy Grand 3.
As far as specifications are concerned, Galaxy Grand 3 is said to sport a 5.25-inch HD (1280x720p) screen, not 5.5-inch size as previously reported and is expected to house Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS, 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 series 64-bit CPU, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory, 13.0-megapixel main camera and 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front.
As of now, there is no word on when the new Galaxy Grand 3 would make its debut, but if past Galaxy Grand series launch pattern is taken into consideration, one can expect Samsung to unveil the new mid-range smartphone by end of December or early January.
