Salman Khan, who has a busy schedule this year with a list of films lined up for release, has reportedly given a nod to the sequel of his superhit "Bodyguard" (2011).
"Bodyguard" received positive response from the audience, and since then the makers have been mulling over the sequel of the film. Produced by brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, the prequel also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan opposite the actor.
"The sequel was being planned for some time now. But the makers couldn't zero in on a script. But now, the script has been found, and it has also got a nod from Salman. Although when the film will go on floors is not clear — as Salman has a number of commitments to take care of — the sequel is definitely going to take off," a source told Hindustan Times.
However, producer Agnihotri refuses to comment on the sequel. "I don't want to comment on the status of Bodyguard's sequel right now. If I say anything, there will be one question after another. When everything gets finalised, I will be the first one to talk about it," he said.
With the news of Salman in "Bodyguard 2", it remains to be seen if Kareena will be roped in to romance the star in the sequel or the makers will launch a newbie.
Last month, there were also reports that Salman's "Kick" (2014) is up for a sequel as producer Sajid Nadiadwala was said to have registered a title "Devil" for his next project. However, it is not clear if the project is the sequel to Salman and Jacqueline Fernandez's blockbuster.
Meanwhile, the "Kick" star is busy shooting for two projects simultaneously, Kabir Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Sooraj Barjatya "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo". He has also joined hands with Karan Johar for his next project "Shuddhi".
Salman was recently spotted shooting for "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" in a remote village Mandawa in Rajasthan. The film is looking for Eid 2015 release.
Some pictures of the superstar from the shoots has been shared on Twitter. Numerous fans crowd the location each day to get a glimpse of the "Being Human" founder.
