Joint survey on India- Myanmar bus service begins

Imphal, Jan 13 (ANI): A joint team of officials from India and Myanmar began a field survey for the proposed Imphal-Mandalay passenger bus service. Ten officials from Myanmar arrived in Imphal to survey the 579-kilometer-long road route from there to Mandalay together with Indian officials. Manipur's Transport Secretary, M Laxmi Kumar said the bus service is in its final stage. The Indian government had already sent a draft report regarding the same to the government of Myanmar and is awaiting its response. The Indian team would submit their report to the Central government for inking a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two nations. Jan 13, 2015

Ban, who is in India on a three-day visit, was the keynote speaker and the guest of honour at the investment summit, Vibrant Gujarat, in Prime Minister Narendra Modis home state of Gujarat. He met Swaraj and held discussions on peace and security, climate change reforms, and other important issues. He said India was among one of the largest contributors of the UN peace keeping operations.
