Activists condemn rape of Sikkim girl in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Condemning the alleged rape of a 25-year-old girl from Sikkim by a doctor in the national capital as 'extremely disturbing', activist Binalakshmi Nepram on Friday warned of a strong protest if an attempt is made to hush up the matter. She also condemned the surge in rape cases across the country. Meanwhile, another women activist, Jagmati Sangwan also expressed her outrage stating that girls from northeast are particularly vulnerable and are therefore targeted. The girl from Sikkim was allegedly raped by a doctor in the Hauz Khas area of the city. The police have initiated an inquiry in this matter following a complaint by the victim. Feb 27, 2015

The actress said in a statement that there is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about Travolta, who is a true class act and everyone in the business would agree, an online portal reported. The 'Lucy' star added that the image, in which Travolta had his hand on her waist and she at least appeared to not be welcoming the exchange, that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome. Johansson noted that the still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live and yet another way people are misguided and misinformed by the 24-hour news cycle. New Delhi, Feb 27 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 473.47 points up to stand at 29,220.12. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 160.75 points up to stand at 8,844.60. UNITECH and HCC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 16.53% and 9.19% along with SINTEX and GMRINFRA with an increase of 9.19% and 8.89% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include RASOYPR and HATHWAY with a decrease of 4.26% and 3.68% along with PMCFIN and NIIT TECHNOLOGIES LTD with a decrease of 2.86% and 2.53% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 417.21 points at 19,769.71 while the banking sector is up 581.77 points at 21,858.46 and the reality sector is up at 74.97 points at 1,838.53. People expect cheaper food, tax reforms from annual budget

Panaji/Dharamsala, Feb 28 (ANI): Indian citizens hope food and healthcare will be cheaper and tax reforms will be made in the annual budget 2015-16 to be released on Saturday. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will present his first full-year budget, seeking to put Asia's third-largest economy on a path of 7-8 percent growth over the next two years. The 2015-16 budget is billed as a "make-or-break" event for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's eight-month-old government. The 2015/16 budget is expected to give a big push to Modi's 'Make in India' campaign, with tax breaks and other incentives for several sectors. Jaitley has promised to implement a nationwide Goods and Services Tax (GST) from April 1, 2016. He introduced a bill in Parliament in December to rationalise state and central indirect taxes into a harmonised sales tax.
