Greg Goodman was biking with his friend, Tyler Noe, on a stretch of road in Franklin, Tennessee, on July 8, when a car smacked Noe and took off without stopping. Goodman wrote that he was taken to a hospital and was doing well. Torrential rain triggers flood and building collapse in Tibet

The persistent torrential rain triggered a building collapse in Jomda county, Qamdo Prefecture in south-west China and amp;#39;s Tibet Autonomous Region on July 8. All residents of the building had been evacuated before the collapse and no casualties have been reported.The collapse happened in the wake of the sharply increased water level of Ziqu river in the county. The water washed away the foundation of the building and eventually caused it to collapse and be carried away by the flood.According to local government, the rain that started to fall in June stopped as of July 10. But the long-period of rainfall had already destroyed 24 bridges and damaged 57.8km of stretches in total across 67 rural highways. Jul 10, 2017

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi arrived in Mosul to congratulate Iraqi forces for their victory against Isis. Iraqi security forces raised the national flag in the ruins of Mosuls Old City on July 9. The victory comes with a heavy toll on the Iraqi army with forces suffering 40% losses in the battle. Large parts of Mosul lie in ruins after eight months of fighting. Thousands of civilians were killed in clashes between Iraqi armed forces and Isis militants and more than one million of the citys inhabitants were displaced. Anti-G20 protests across Hamburg continued for the third night in a row. Protests on Saturday were mostly peaceful after two nights of violent clashes which saw radicals torching cars and looting shops. Police used water cannons to disperse remaining protesters who began throwing bottles and rocks. More than 200 police officers were injured during three days of clashes. A 31-year-old man died after driving a car filled with propane into his ex-girlfriends home. A police bodycam video shows the car on fire as officers try to extinguish the flames. Floridas Fort Pierce Department said driver Carl Philbert was involved in a dispute at the address before returning with his car and crashing into the apartment building. A video shows a Canadian police officer yelling at a mother for leaving her two children in a hot car while she went grocery shopping. Police in Vancouver received multiple calls about the children who were said to be in distress. A full emergency response including police and fire services were dispatched.The children, aged 3 and 6, were reportedly in the car for 20 minutes. Special forces were deployed in Hamburg to control protests against the G20 summit. For the second day in a row, anti-capitalist protesters caused chaos in the north German city torching vehicles, looting supermarkets, building barricades and attacking police. Special forces stormed the Schanzenviertel district around midnight and chased members of the radical Black Bloc trying to escape across scaffolding.
