Workers at fast food chain McDonalds are staging their first-ever strike in the UK on 3 September, in a dispute over pay, zero-hour contracts and working conditions. Spectators suffer serious injuries after car sprays burning fuel at motor event

Spectators at a Australian Motor event suffered serious burns after a car sprayed ignited fuel into the crowd on 3 September. ABC reported 11 people were harmed at the Alice Springs Inland Dragway, with at least one person still in a critical condition.A Facebook live video caught crowds running away from the fire.The event was cancelled due to fire safety concerns.  Sep 4, 2017

Four women got into a fight over a notebook in the back to school section of a Michigan Walmart on 28 August, a fight that ended when one of the women pulled a gun. None of the women have been identified, but police and witnesses told local media that the woman who pulled the gun did so after the other women had pushed her aside and pulled her daughters hair. 12 Brits arrested in Spain for smuggling cocaine in speedboats to sell to Magaluf clubbers

14 people including 12 British nationals were arrested in Magaluf for drug dealing. Police seized 3kg of cocaine as well as methamphetamine and cannabis, over 100,000 euro in cash and four vehicles. The dealers reportedly smuggled the drugs to the holiday resort in speedboats. The suspects were working for local bars and clubs and are predominantly from Liverpool and Manchester. Sep 3, 2017

Almost 70,000 people evacuated in Frankfurt ahead of bomb disposal

Almost 70,000 people have been evacuated ahead of a bomb defusal in Frankfurt. It is the largest post-war evacuation in Germany. Two major hospitals and several retirement homes had to be evacuated completely. The unexploded British World War Two bomb was discovered during building works. Bomb disposal experts will attempt to defuse the 1.8 tonne bomb remotely from a safe distance. It is estimated that 150,000 bombs still lie unexploded in the ground in Germany. Sep 3, 2017

North Korea conducts its sixth nuclear test

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 was detected in a North Korean province. The artificial quake was caused by North Koreas sixth nuclear test. The hermit kingdom confirmed it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe contemned North Korea for continuing its nuclear program. The country has conducted five nuclear detonations in the past, two of them in 2016. The current blast was up to 6 times stronger than the last nuclear test. Sep 3, 2017
