Artificial limb center in Kanpur provides aid to injured in war torn areas

Kanpur, Aug 21 (ANI): Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) has earned goodwill for the country by providing artificial limbs to the land mine victims in Afghanistan and by setting up a limb fitting facility centre. ALIMCO, which is based in Kanpur, distributes aids and appliances to the disabled free of cost and at concessional rates. Recently, it provided a ray of hope to the survivors of war torn Afghanistan as it set camps in the country where experts took measurements of the disabled for their artificial limbs and also taught how to use them. The villagers have been requesting for construction of a bridge over the river for a very long time but in vain. Srinagar, Aug 20 (ANI): Over a hundred furious government employees staged a protest in Jammu and Kashmir to demand better wages and regularisation of jobs. Demanding better treatment, the employees under the banner of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) shouted slogans against the State government in Srinagar on Wednesday and said the government has not fulfilled the terms of agreement yet.
