Maoists kill seven people in Jharkhand

Gumla, Nov 5 (ANI): In a brazen attack, Maoists in Gumla district of Jharkhand have gunned down seven people. Police said that a group of heavily-armed red rebels of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) ambushed the SUV in which the seven persons were travelling near Gumla district. He added the attack created panic amongst the villagers and additional security forces have been deployed by the district administration. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s. Nov 5, 2014

Reportedly, in his soon to be released autobiography titled 'Playing It My Way', Tendulkar has said that just before the 2007 World Cup, Chappell had approached him to replace former cricketer Rahul Dravid as the team captain. Further in his autobiography, Tendulkar is claimed to have mentioned that Chappell had told Tendulkar that together they could control the Indian cricket for years. Amritsar, Nov 5 (ANI): A legislator from Pakistan Punjab Assembly, Suraiya Naseem termed the suicide attack at Wagah border as 'failed conspiracy' to create differences between the two neighbours, amid paying her respect at the Sikh shrine, Golden temple, in Amritsar recently. At least 60 people were killed and 110 wounded on November 02, when the explosion ripped through a car park about 500 metres from Pakistan's border gate just as hundreds of people left the daily performance. At least two Pakistani Taliban splinter groups have claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was revenge for the army's military operation against insurgents in the tribal region of North Waziristan. After offering prayers at Golden Temple, Naseem said that the militancy is a threat for both India and Pakistan, which needs to be tackled through mutual cooperation. Condemning the militant attack, Naseem said the blast at Wagah border on Pakistan side was an attempt to sour the relations between the two neighbours, but has miserably failed. Nov 5, 2014

The Minister also assured the families that the government was looking at all kinds of possibilities and was working tirelessly to get back the citizens stranded in the war-ravaged country. Around 41 Indian citizens were captured by the ISIL in Mosul in June this year. The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and other Sunni Muslim militant groups had seized towns and cities across Syria and Iraq in a lightning advance, according to media reports.
