Operations on to rescue 14-month-old boy from borewell in MP

Chhatarpur, Dec 18 (ANI): A 14-month-old boy got trapped after accidentally falling into a 100-feet deep borewell in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The district administration initiated rescue operation, which is still in progress, soon after the incident. According to the police, the child was left alone near the borewell while her aunt was working in the adjacent farmland. He added that a team of doctors has also been rushed to the spot to work on providing oxygen to the child through a pipe. The parents of the child rushed to the incident site the moment they were informed. Krishna is their only child. This is not the first case of a child falling into an uncovered manhole in India. Due to the negligence on the part of authorities, several children have fallen into deep open borewells across the country. Dec 18, 2014

SC extends Jayalalithaa's bail by four more months

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday extended bail of Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa by four more months in the disproportionate assets case. Jayalalithaa, who has appealed against her conviction in a corruption case, will remain on bail till April. The court also asked chief justice of Karnataka High Court to constitute a special bench to expeditiously decide Jayalalithaa's appeal within 3 months. The SC also ordered that the case be heard on a day-to-day basis. The matter came up before the Supreme Court on Thursday, counsel for Jayalalithaa, KTS Tulsi informed the Chief Justice HL Dattu, that in compliance with the earlier order of the apex court, Jayalalithaa had already submitted all the appeal papers before the Karnataka High Court. SC refuses to interfere with Bombay High Court order that stays Maratha reservation

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to interfere with the order of the Bombay High Court which stayed the move to grant 16 per cent reservation to Marathas in public service and educational institutions in Maharashtra. Earlier, the Bombay HC had cancelled the previous Congress-NCP government's decision of giving 16 percent reservation for Marathas. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had later advocated for Maratha reservation and approached the Supreme Court. The court said that it will take decision after listening to all the pending petitions. Politicos congratulate ISRO for successfully launching GSLV Mark-III

New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): Politicos from various parties on Thursday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientists for successfully launching the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) Mark-III from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. This is the first time that such an exercise has been conducted by the ISRO scientists. The GSLV Mark III weighs 630 tonnes and is powered by liquid and solid fuel engines while the cryogenic engine at the top is filled with liquid nitrogen. New Delhi, Dec 18 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday directed the removal of a senior judge accused of sexually harassing a woman judge in Madhya Pradesh from administrative and supervisory work. SC further stated that the panel appointed by the MP's Chief Justice to investigate the allegation was not correct and not in conformity with in-house procedure and asked the Chief Justice of India HL Dattu to set up a new panel to examine the sexual harassment charge against the judge.
