BJP slams govt for reports on Indo-Pak PM talks

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid reportedly will meet his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz on Friday in Kyrgyzstan. The proposed meeting comes barely two weeks after reports that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is likely to go ahead with a meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif in New York later this month. Prayers resume at Kedarnath Temple

Dehradun/ Kedarnath, Sept 11 (ANI): The deathly silence brooding over Kedarnath for the past 86 days since the June calamity hit Uttarakhand broke on Wednesday by the chanting of Vedic hymns as prayers resumed at the Himalayan shrine.The Puja began with a 'shuddhikaran' of the temple and 'prayashchitikaran' (atonement for prolonged suspension of prayers at the shrine). 'Teerth' purohits and Badrinath Kedarnath Samiti officials accompanied the chief priest as the prayers resumed. The resumption of prayers was however of limited nature, as no pilgrim was being allowed to visit the famed Himalayan temple. Anti-Maoist outfit TSPC threatens Maoists and greedy landlords

Lohardaga, Sep 11 (ANI): Tritiya Sammelan Prastuti Committee (TSPC), an armed anti-Maoist group in Jharkhand warned the ultras not to harass innocent villagers and indulge in killing those who don't pay taxes demanded by them. People in Bangladesh take to streets against attacks on Hindu and Buddhist shrines

Dhaka, Sep 11 (ANI): Activists under the banner of the 'Bangladesh Hindu, Buddhist and Christian Solidarity Association' took out a rally through the main streets of the national capital Dhaka. They were protesting against the attacks on the Hindu and Buddhist temples in Bangladesh. Scores of protesters holding banners and placards during the rally, raised slogans to press their agitation against the attacks on Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples in different parts of the country, following the verdict on war crimes trial. The protesters denounced the fundamentalists for attacking the temples and vandalizing the idols of deities and other religious properties; and appealed for justice.

Japan markets its agri products and regional cuisine

Tokyo, Sep 11 (ANI): Japan was historically known as "the land of golden ears of rice". And, the tradition of rice cultivation has been well protected by the Japanese government. Today, Wooke Co. Ltd., a sister concern of Shinmei Corporation, produces aseptic packaged rice in cooperation with Japan Agricultural Cooperatives. It produces over 140 packets of rice per day and exports them to Europe, Australia, Russia and China. The sterilizing, cooking and sealing process are managed by NASA Class 100 standard in order to produce complete germfree packed rice, without adding any chemicals or food addictives. The packed rice products can be stored at room temperature for 10 months.
