BJP on allegations against former Army Chief VK Singh

New Delhi, Sep 20 (ANI): BJP National Spokesperson, Captain Abhimanyu on Friday said that it was unfortunate to see allegations against former Army Chief VK Singh. Further, pointing fingers at the UPA government, he said that the UPA government has tried to destroy the fabric of security. Media reports have claimed that General VK Singh had set up a special unit in the army which tried to topple the Jammu and Kashmir Government. The report also claimed that a secret Board of Officers inquiry has recommended that the CBI look into the matter. Media report also claimed that the unit set up by General V K Singh called the Technical Services Division (TSD), a part of Military Intelligence, tried to block General Bikram Singh's promotion. The reports said that the recommendation has been examined by the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Defence.

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (ANI): Lt General (Retired) PN Hoon on Friday launched a frontal attack on former army chief General VK Singh, against whom an enquiry has been ordered for setting up a special unit in the army headquarters to allegedly topple the Jammu and Kashmir Government and said the incident was a sad day for the armed forces. Hoon also said that former chief VK Singh was known for his tarnished reputation for some time now.

VK Singh in govt dock for sharing dais with Narendra Modi: BJP

New Delhi, Sept 20 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday claimed that former chief of army staff General VK Singh is being targeted by the UPA Government for sharing the dais with BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at a recent rally in Rewari, Haryana. BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said that the defence ministry's decision to order a probe against General (retired) VK. Singh in connection with a media-based report that he had allegedly ordered a technical unit of the army to unseat the Jammu and Kashmir Government when he was in office, was completely unjustified.

Chennai, Sept 20 (ANI): A doctor in Chennai became the first Indian to perform a surgery wearing the Google glass as he live streamed an upper gastro-intestinal laparoscopy procedure on a 45-year-old man to medical students seated two blocks away. Google Glass has a frame similar to the traditional spectacles but is actually a wearable computer that follows voice commands. It can take photos and videos to show the viewpoint of the user. Chief surgeon JS Rajkumar, who wore the latest gadget in the operation theatre, performed a medical procedure to repair the patient___s simple hernia with his team of doctors on September 17. In all praise for Google___s latest gizmo, Rajkumar said on Friday that the glasses helped him in transmitting the data of the surgery to students, other doctors and mediapersons.

Rasheed Masood found guilty in MBBS seat allocation case

New Delhi, Sept 20 (ANI): A Special CBI court has held Rajya Sabha member Rasheed Masood guilty in a case of corruption and other offences. Masood, Minister of Health in the VP Singh government between 1990 and 1991, was held guilty of fraudulently nominating undeserving candidates to MBBS seats allotted to Tripura in medical colleges across the country from the central pool. Masood's conviction is the first case after the July 10 Supreme Court judgment that struck down sub-section 4 of Section 8 of Representation of the People, RP Act, under which incumbent MPs and MLAs can avoid disqualification till pendency of the appeal against conviction in a higher court.
