The Pokemon Company has revealed a new Pokemon, Rayquaza, for the upcoming game Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
The new Dragon/Flying Pokemon, Rayquaza, can Mega Evolve. A Mega Evolved Rayquaza will turn into Mega Rayquaza with the unique ability of Delta Stream. Delta Stream is a mysterious air current that will protect the Pokemon. It will have a new move too, Dragon Ascent where it will be rising into the sky and attacking its rival with an overwhelming power.
Revealing more on the Rayquaza's Delta Stream ability, official website says that when it used it will be able to whip up strong winds that and the following will ensue:
- The moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm and Hail will fail.
- The Abilities Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream and Snow Warning will fail to activate.
- Moves of a type that Flying-type Pokemon are usually weak to will only deal normal damage to any Flying-type Pokemon in the battle.
It also adds that the weather affects stay longer. The website also mentions of a legend when "Groudon and Kyogre clash, Rayquaza descends to the planet's surface."
"A third Legendary Pokemon will appear on your Hoenn adventure! Rayquaza is said to be somehow connected with the mysteries of Mega Evolution. Now its Mega-Evolved appearance has been revealed," reported CVG . This Pokemon has unique biology that enables it for Mega Evolution.
Rayquaza's reveal follows that of Kyogre, Groudon, Gallade, Sharpedo and Camerupt.
Previously, IBTimes India also provided demo details of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The demo will have its own special campaign. Players in the demo version will be encountering new Mega Evolved Pokemon that can be carried over to the main game too, as will be the game and the reward items.
This new game is scheduled for release on 21 November in North America and 28 November in Europe, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
