Technology giant, Oppo Electronics Corp has announced a couple of mid-range smartphones – N1 Mini and R3 in the home market, China.
As the name suggest, the new N1 Mini is the compact version of the company's flagship swiveling camera-phone Oppo N1. Like its elder sibling, the small variant also boasts of 13.0-megapixel rotating camera, which eliminates the need for secondary camera on the front and also enables users to have high-quality video chat.
However, other specifications such as screen size & display resolution, CPU type have been watered down to keep costs under check. It houses 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) display and houses a 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt memory and a 2,140 mAh battery.
On the other hand, Oppo R3 features 5.0-inch HD display, 1.6GHz snapdragon CPU, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 8.0-megapixel primary camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front and a 2,420 mAh battery.
According to the company (courtesy, Gizmo China), both Oppo N1 Mini and R3 would go on sale later this month in China for 2699 Yuan (around $433/₹25,700) and 2,299 Yuan (around $369/₹ 21,900), but there is no word on when these devices will be made available in other markets.
In related news, the Oppo is all set to launch the company's flagship smartphone Find 7 with 2K display in India on Wednesday (11 June).
Oppo Find 7 made its global debut in mid-March this year. It boasts a big 5.5-inch high-resolution QHD (2560x1440p) display with staggering pixel density of 538 ppi (pixels per inch) and its cover-shell is made of Titanium-Aluminum alloy frame which has five layers of thermal protective coating to withstand overheating.
Under the hood, Find 7 ships with the top-of the line specifications like 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 series quad-core CPU, Adreno 330 graphics engine, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage (expandable up 128GB) and a high-capacity 3,000 mAh (Li-Po) battery.
Besides boasting high-resolution display, the Oppo phone houses a 13.0-megapixel camera with Sony's proprietary Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor, which can record 4K resolution videos with HDR and slow motion modes. It is also said to have the ability to capture 50-megapixel quality photos via 'Super Zoom' feature. It packs 5.0-megapixel 80-degree wide-angle camera on the front.
