If you are holding your breath for the OnePlus 2 to be released, here is some good news. If the latest rumours are to be believed, OnePlus will release the next flagship smartphone in July, according to MyDrivers' sources.
This falls well with OnePlus' commitment to release the handset during the third quarter of 2015. Although there is no specific release date, the timeframe has been narrowed down to July instead of a full quarter.
Sources also revealed that the OnePlus 2 is expected to carry a price tag of 1,999 Chinese Yuan, which roughly translates to $322, Phandroid reports. This means the OnePlus 2 launch price will be higher than its predecessor, OnePlus One, which was launched at $300 for the 16GB base variant. At this price point, the OnePlus 2 is expected to retail at $349 in international markets, $100 more than the current price of OnePlus One.
But the sources haven't mentioned if the speculated price is for any specific variant, as OnePlus might launch at least two models with different storage options. It could be that the rumoured price is for the higher-end variant, which would make it compelling for flagship shoppers, but there is also a possibility that OnePlus might charge $349 for the base model itself.
So far, OnePlus has managed to keep the specifics of the device to itself. Previous rumours have suggested that the OnePlus 2 will come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB RAM, 13MP primary camera, 5.5-inch Full HD screen and a 3,300mAh battery.
It is worth noting that the handset maker will follow the company's invite-only sales model and there are no immediate plans for open sale.
