The much-anticipated compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Nissan Terrano was launched in India on Wednesday, 9 October, with a starting price of ₹9.59 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi)
Nissan Terrano, which will be available in seven variants and six colours - Pearl White, Blade Silver, Saphire Black, Sterling Grey, Bronze Grey and Fire Red, will take on Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster in the auto market.

Terrano is an important product for us and will set the pace for future product launches slated for 2014," Kenichiro Yomura, President, Nissan India Operations, was quoted as saying at the launch function by Motoroids.
"Our combined efforts have paid off with the initial feedback and encouragement we have received through the quantum of bookings clocked in the pre-sales period. With the expansion of our dealership network nationwide, we will continue growing within the market and look forward to a promising year with the Terrano being one of the most successful products ever launched in our product portfolio," added Nitish Tipnis, Director, Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India.
Under the hoods, Terrano has 1.5-litre dCi mill for diesel variants, while petrol variant has 1.6-litre engine. It will be available in three trim levels- XE, XL and XV.

The pre-booking of Nissan Terrano was opened for a refundable payment of ₹50,000 after its unveiling last month. Sources told Motoroids that the SUV has received over 6000 bookings and the waiting period could extend up to 45 days.
