New images of the upcoming Android 4.4 Kitkat OS have popped up online. The OS is said to run on the LG manufactured Google Nexus 5, which is expected to be introduced along with the OS.
The images indicate that the new operating system will flaunt big icons in the menu option. No icons, besides the camera icon, are seen on the lock screen, but it is likely to come with customizations.
The home screen of the OS will also sport big icons for user's ease. No other details can be made out from the pictures. Some of the expected features of Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, which will arrive on older handsets include Android cloud storage, wider network coverage, increased battery life and others. It has been also understood that the much awaited Google OS, Android 4.4 Kitkat, and the Google Nexus 5 handset are rumoured to be released on Oct. 15, which is a day after the anticipated Oct. 14, reports Redmond Pie.
Google has not mentioned any information or date on the launch of both OS and the handset. One would have to wait for an official announcement amidst the web of rumour.
In related news, Google Nexus 5 handset was spotted under benchmark tests for graphic performance. The benchmark scores given by GFX Benchmark, are expected to give a stiff competition to its rival smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z1 and the recently launched Apple iPhone 5S.
Some of the specifications revealed from the benchmark tests include 5in True HD IPS Captive Touch Screen with 441ppi, 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 800 processor and others.
