Home grown smartphone maker, Micromax has launched a new mid-range handset dubbed as the Canvas Knight Cameo in India.
The new Micromax Knight Cameo sports a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS display and ships with Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS powered by the MediaTek Octa-core processor backed by 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory.
Other stipulated features include 8.0-megapixel camera, 5.0-megapixel snapper on the front for video chatting and 1800 mAh battery, which can power the phone for up to 7 hours of talk time and close to 180 hours under standby mode. On connectivity front, it features- 3G network support, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), micro-USB v2.0 and GPS for navigation.
Competition:
The new Micromax phone has been made available at online store Snapdeal for ₹12,599 and even in brick-and-mortar stores (courtesy, Mahesh Telecom ) in India. It will be up against popular MNC brands Motorola Moto G, Xiaomi Mi3, Asus Zenfone 5, HTC Desire 616, its sibling - Canvas Turbo Mini A200 , newly launched Xolo 8X-1000 and many other local branded low-cost devices.
Besides Canvas Knight Cameo, the company also sells two other Octa-core based devices- Canvas Gold A300 and Canvas Knight A350.
Other rival Octa-core smartphones include Gionee Elife E7 Mini, Intex Aqua Octa, Karbonn Octane series and Wickedleak Wammy Neo.
