Popular indigenous smartphone maker Micromax has reportedly released a new mid-range handset - Canvas Blaze - to the market via online channels.

The new phone is available at e-commerce website Shopclues for ₹11,999. It sports a 5.0-inch display and runs on the Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS out-of-the-box.

Inside, it packs 1GHz dual-core processor, 768MB RAM, expandable storage (up to 32GB), 8.0-megapixel main camera with flash support, VGA (0.3-megapixel) snapper on the front for video chat and 1850 mAh battery. On the connectivity front, it features dual-SIM slot (GSM + CDMA), Bluetooth v2.0, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and A-GPS for navigations.

Considering its specifications and price, it will be competing with Samsung Galaxy Core, Nokia Lumia 620, Sony Xperia M & U, and local players like Xolo Q700i, iBall Andi 4.5h. It might even cannibalise the sales prospects of  its older siblings Micromax Canvas Ego, Canvas 2 Plus A110Q and others.

A few days ago, Micromax had released a quad-core based mid-range smartphone, dubbed Canvas 2.2 A114, to market.
