Indian handset maker Micromax has reportedly released a new mid-range smartphone, Canvas 2.2 A114, in the online market.
The new phone is now available for purchase at Flipkart for ₹12,999. It sports a 5.0-inch qHD (940x560p) IPS display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS.
Under-the-hood, Micromax Canvas 2.2 A114 packs a 1.3GHz MediaTek based quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 4GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB), 8.0-megapixel main camera, 2.0-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery.
On connectivity front, it houses dual-SIM slots, 3G network support, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), GPRS/EDGE with Google Maps for navigation.
Considering the specifications and its price, Micromax's new phone will be up against Xolo Q800, Q1000, Karbonn Titanium S2, iBall Quadro Andi 5h, Sony Xperia M, Samsung Galaxy Core and Nokia Lumia 620. It may even end up cannibalising sales of its older siblings - Canvas HD A116 and Magnus A117.
