Lenovo is building on the success of its A6000 smartphone in India with the upcoming launch of its successor A7000 at a special event on 9 April. After a long wait, the handset is finally arriving in India, catering to the needs of those who wish to get a premium package at an affordable price. The Indian pricing is yet to be announced, but sources suggest the handset to be priced under ₹10,000, possibly between ₹8,999 and ₹9,999.
Lenovo has sent out invites teasing the Dolby Atmos technology; Lenovo A7000, which was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress earlier this month, is the first handset to sport the new sound tech.
The specification details are already out for the A7000, complete with a 5.5-inch HD screen and a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek processor. It sports 2GB RAM and has 8GB onboard storage with expandable option up to 32GB.
On the camera side of things, there's an 8-megapixel rear-facing snapper with LED flash and autofocus and a 5MP front shooter.
The smartphone is built with dual-SIM support and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. There's a 2,900mAh battery powering the Lenovo A6000 promising up to 39 hours of 2G talk time and 16 hours on 3G.
If the A7000 4G smartphone is launched in India during Lenovo's upcoming event, the first sale is likely to be held through Flipkart on 15 April, Mobiltor reports.
Lenovo has offered great value with its A6000 smartphone and buyers will be interested in the new under ₹10,000 smartphone. The A6000 is priced at ₹6,999 and offers identical specs such as camera, 4G support, storage and screen resolution. But there are considerable upgrades, like a faster processor onboard, latest Android OS, bigger display, double RAM, greater battery life and more, to lure smartphone shoppers.
