Bengaluru-based smartphone maker Karbonn Mobiles has released a teaser poster of the company's upcoming smartphone Titanium X on its official website.
Titanium X sports a 5.0-inch full HD IPS display and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS, powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.
The new Karbonn smartphone packs a 13.0-megapixel auto-focus camera with Dual-LED flash support, 5.0-megapixel secondary camera, 2300 mAh battery and also boasts of NFC (Near Field Communications) chip; no other local brand in India features this wireless device pairing technology.
However, the company is yet to disclose Titanium X's key features like RAM, in-built memory capacity, as well as the device's price and release date details. But as the cat is already out of the bag, one can expect Karbonn Mobiles to officially release the new smartphone soon.
Once released, Karbonn's Titanium X will compete against locla rivals Micromax's recently released Canvas Turbo A250, Intex Mobiles' Aqua i7 and Zen Mobiles' Ultrafone 701 FHD, which all fall under same class.
Of late local players have emerged strong contenders against cash-rich MNC brands like Samsung, Nokia, Sony, LG and others. Especially Micromax (22 percent) and Karbonn (13 percent) have made tremendous inroads in the subcontinent market and are placed second and third position respectively in the IDC's (International Data Corporation) recent second quarter Indian smartphone market share chart. They have pushed the 2012 leader, Nokia to fourth. Samsung currently holds the top position with a 26 percent share.
