Bangladesh Book Fair thrown open to bibliophiles in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 26 (ANI): As a part of cultural cooperation programmes between India and Bangladesh, Bangladesh Book Fair kicked-off in Kolkata. The book fair, being held at Rabindra Sadan, was inaugurated by West Bengal's Education Minister Partho Chatterjee. Chatterjee said that an initiative was underway as a part of which poets from West Bengal and Bangladesh will collaborate to write a book. A visitor to the book fair, Shreyoshi Bandhopadhay, said such initiatives help bridge the gaps created by borders. TMC blames government for blast in West Bengal

Kolkata, Oct 12 (ANI): Trinamool Congress (TMC) party blamed the Central government for the blast in West Bengal, saying the intrusion of members of extremist groups into the state led to the incident. Two suspected militants were killed and one sustained injuries in an explosion at a TMC leader's house in Burdwan district on October 2. TMC leader Partha Chatterjee said that the Central government is not serious and competent enough to depute border guards and that is why illegal migrants are intruding into West Bengal. He also said the wing of ruling BJP and Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) are disrupting the peaceful situation in the state to reap political benefits.
