Mumbai-based technology firm iBall has launched an affordable voice-calling Android tablet, dubbed Slide 3G17, in India via online store.

The new iBall tablet sports a 7.0-inch WVGA (800x480p) screen and ships with Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS, powered by 1.3GHz ARM Cortex A7 dual-core processor with 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt storage.

The budget device also boasts a 2.0-megapixel main camera with flash support, a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front for video chat, 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery and, in terms of connectivity, it features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and A-GPS for navigation.

The company has listed iBall Slide 3G17 at their official website for ₹8,199 but consumers can purchase the same device at e-commerce website Snapdeal for ₹7,649. It will compete with local players like HCL ME Connect, Lava Connect+ Z7C, Swipe Halo Fone tablet and MNC brands, such as Lenovo Idea Tab A1000 and DataWind UbiSlate 7CZ.

Earlier in the year, iBall had launched a voice-calling tablet - Slide 7271 HD 7. It also boasts similar specifications seen in Slide 3G17 but with an improved display resolution of 1024x600p. It is available at eBay for ₹8,290.
