Shahid Kapoor will look for his life partner himself!

New Delhi, Nov 22 (ANI): Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has dismissed reports about his father actor Pankaj Kapoor looking for a girl for him and said that he will choose his life partner himself. It was being reported that Shahid's father had made a few trips to Punjab to find a girl for his son. "I can promise you that my father is not looking for any girl for me. When I read that article I was shooting for Haider in Kashmir and my father was shooting for Finding Fanny in Goa. And according to the article my father was in Punjab. So no truth in it," said the actor.

Brad Pitt refuses part in slave film to avoid showing shocking images to kids

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): Brad Pitt has reportedly refused a main part in his upcoming film '12 Years A Slave' amid concerns that his young children would get disturbed by the shocking imagery. The 49-year-old actor admitted that maybe he would let his eldest child watch the film, but for the others, he rather let them get a bit older and understand the dynamics of the world a little more. The film, directed by Steve McQueen, is a true story based on Solomon Northup's personal account of being a free man in New York in the pre-civil war days and who is kidnapped and sold into slavery.

PM calls for sound competition policy as BRICS nations face common challenges

New Delhi, Nov 21 (ANI): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh emphasised on the need for a sound competition policy with an aim to meet the challenges of growth and poverty reduction faced by the BRICS nations. Singh inaugurated the '3rd BRICS International Competition Conference (ICC)' in New Delhi on Thursday. The PM stated that the anti-competitive behaviour deprived the markets of their ability to deliver efficient results. Singh also stressed on the need for building credible institutions for sustained and equitable growth. Singh also said that enforcement of competition law was another challenge faced by the emerging economies.

Curtains go up at 44th International Film Festival of India

Panaji, Nov 21 (ANI): The curtains went up at the 44th edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), in Goa This year being special marks the celebration of 100 years of Indian cinema with the introduction of a special Centenary award by the central government to mark the occasion. Information and Broadcasting Minister, Manish Tewari and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in the presence of veteran Bollywood stars and dignitaries lit the inauguration lamp at the opening ceremony. Tewari said that celebrating 100 years of cinema the year heralds the beginning of a new era of films. Actress Waheeda Rehman was the first Bollywood veteran actor to be honoured with the award for Film Personality of the Year. Men with good-looking wives lead happy married life

New Delhi, Nov 20 (ANI): A new study has found that an attractive wife can make a man's marital life quite satisfactory as compared to an unattractive wife. For the four-year study, psychologist Andrea Meltzer asked 450 newlywed couples whether a good-looking spouse leads to a more satisfying union. The findings showed that wives' attractiveness on husbands' satisfaction was significantly stronger than husbands' attractiveness on wives' satisfaction. According to the report, spousal attractiveness played a larger role in predicting husbands' marital satisfaction than it did in predicting wives' marital satisfaction.
