Asus Releases New Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) Variant in India; Price, Specifications

The new Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) ships with 1.8GHz Quad Core Intel Atom Z3560 backed by PowerVR G6430 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory

In less than a fortnight of launching its fourth variant of Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) with 128GB storage in India, Asus has released a new variant.

The new Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) ships with 1.8GHz Quad Core Intel Atom Z3560 backed by PowerVR G6430 GPU, 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt memory. It is now available exclusively on Flipkart for ₹18,999 [HERE], said the company on the official Facebook account.

With the announcement, Asus Zenfone 2 Z2551ML models will now cover the price range from ₹14,999 to ₹29,999. Though this gives lot of options in numerous budget catagories, it is also confusing for an average consumer to pick the devices from five variants, which house pretty much the same hardware in couple of key features like CPU and RAM capacity.

Asus Zenfone 2 series model details:

Zenfone 2 comes in three variants – ZE551ML, ZE550ML and ZE500CL. Among them, ZE551ML comes in five sub-variants based on RAM, storage capacity and chipset combination.

Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML models have 4GBRAM/128GB memory/2.3GHz Intel Atom processor Z3580, 4GB/64GB memory/2.3GHz Intel Atom processor, 4GB RAM/32GB memory/2.3GHz Intel Atom processor, 4GB/32GB memory/ 1.8GHz Quad Core Intel Atom Z3560. The fifth variant comes with 2GB RAM/16GB memory/1.8GHz Quad Core Intel Atom Z3560.

The five variants cost ₹29,999, ₹22,999, ₹19,999, ₹18,999 and ₹14,999 respectively. Among them, select models are on sale on Flipkart [HERE] right now.

Rest of the internal hardware and software remain same for all the variants. They boast of 5.5-inch Full HD screen and ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 3000 mAh battery, 13mp camera on the rear-side and a 5mp snapper on the front. [For more information, scroll down and check out the table]

On the other hand, Zenfone 2 (ZE550ML) sports 5.5-inch HD screen and ships with 1.8GHz Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560 (1.8GHz) with PowerVR G6430 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB memory and a 3000 mAh battery.

Zenfone 2 (ZE500CL) is low-end model among the lot. It features a smaller 5.0-inch HD display. Under the hood, it comes packed with 2GB RAM, 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor and a 2500 mAh battery which can run the phone for close to 360 hours under standby mode.
