American technology giant Apple Inc is reportedly planning to launch its first smart-wearable Watch in India in a few months' time.
The company is making arrangements to release the Apple Watch in India around mid-February, reported The Economic Times, citing two senior executives with the knowledge of Apple plans.
It is learnt that the Cupertino-based firm is very "bullish" about the Apple Watch's prospects in India. The company is reportedly banking on strong four million plus iDevice (iPhones & iPad) owners of the sub-continent for the sale of smartwatch.
The company has already begun inviting local software programmers to develop value-added apps for the Apple Watch, so that there will be enough collections of apps before the launch.
The business publication also reported that Apple Watch would cost anywhere between ₹28,000 and ₹35,000 bucks. The price range is almost double the cost of Google's Android Wear-powered smartwatches (Motorola Moto 360, LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live). Now, it remains to be seen how the public would react to the new Apple offering.

Key Specifications of Apple Watch:
Apple Watch was originally unveiled along with iPhone 6 series smartphones back in September. It runs on the iOS-based user interface created specifically for a smaller device.
It features the Digital Crown, a creative way to scroll, zoom and navigate fluidly, without much distraction on the display, says the company. The Digital Crown also serves as the Home button and also an easy access to Siri (voice-based digital assistant).
Another notable feature is the the Retina display on Apple Watch tentatively called as – "Force Touch"'. This intuitive technology can sense the difference between a tap and a press. This gives users, a new way to quickly and easily access controls within apps.
Apple Watch also comes packed with state-of-art technology Taptic Engine and a built-in speaker that together can discreetly enable an entirely new vocabulary of alerts and notifications, so that users can both hear and also feel the message reminders on their wrists.
Under the hood, it houses the Apple's custom-designed S1 SiP (System in Package), a miniature version of an entire computer architecture put onto a single chip, so that it can be easily accommodated in the space-constrained Watch.
Other stipulated features include Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth 4.0 to pair seamlessly with all iDevices.
Apple Watch comes in three collector edition models — Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition — available in two different sizes, 38mm and 42mm. The exterior has been beautifully designed and for durability, its enclosures are crafted from custom alloys of polished or space black stainless steel, space grey or silver anodised aluminum and 18-karat rose or yellow gold.
Apple Watch will be made available initially in the USA early 2015 with prices starting at $349 (around €279/₹21,600).
