The superhero flick, which released on 1 November, is still running in theatres. The film has earned over ₹240 crore at the domestic box office in just 24 days (till 24 November), reported Bollywood Hungama.
The release of new films has significantly affected "Krrish 3" collections, which had a dream run at the box office. The Rakesh Roshan directorial has been facing strong competition at multiplexes from Ranveer-Deepika's "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" and Imran-Kareena's "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein".
The film's collections have dwindled in the last few days, with its earnings ranging between ₹50 lakh and ₹90 lakh. It raked in ₹2.12 crore in its fourth weekend (22-24 November). The breakup of the film's collections in its fourth weekend is: ₹52 lakh on Friday, ₹68 lakh on Saturday and ₹92 lakh on Sunday.
According to Koimoi, "Krrish 3" might close its lifetime business over the fourth week.
The film has fared exceptionally well at both domestic and overseas box offices. Its 24-day collections stand at ₹241.8 crore, which includes earnings from Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions. The film has reportedly earned over ₹280 crore at the worldwide box office. The magnum opus is reportedly the highest grossing Bollywood film of all time and also holds the record of highest grosser of 2013.
Now, the focus has shifted to Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" which is set to hit the screens on 20 December. It remains to be seen if the action-thriller flick will be able to break the records set by "Krrish 3".
