The business of Hrithik starrer "Krrish 3" has been affected by "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" at the overseas box office.
"Krrish 3", which released on 1 November, had a dream run in foreign markets till its second week as there were no big releases. But when "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" hit screens, the superhero flick witnessed a drop in its collections.
Interestingly, the Ranveer-Deepika starrer has surpassed "Krrish 3" collections in U.S.A.-Canada and Australia. However, Hrithik's film has already been declared a "blockbuster" at the overseas box office. The film, which is running in its fourth week, has minted approximately $8.5 million (₹53.07 crore) from the first day of its release till 24 November.
"Krrish 3" has grossed ₹13.60 crore from USA-Canada, ₹15.11 crore from UAE-GCC, ₹8.41 crore from UK and Ireland, ₹2.62 crore from Australia, ₹2.81 crore from Pakistan, ₹1.50 crore from Mauritius and ₹62.41 lakh from Netherlands.
The film's performance has also declined in India due to new releases. It has raked in over ₹242 crore at the domestic box office, which includes Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions, according to Bollywood Hungama.
"Krrish 3" surpassed "Chennai Express" collections in just 15 days and became the highest grosser of all time. The film reportedly holds the record for the highest single day collections (₹35.91 crore), once again beating the Shah Rukh Khan starrer which earned ₹33.12 crore on the first day of its release.
It has also set one more record of becoming the fastest film to enter into the ₹200-crore club. Only three films have made it to the coveted club, of which two were released this year - "Krrish 3" and "Chennai Express." Aamir Khan's "3 Idiots", which released in 2009, was the first film to start the club.
