ZTE's Nubia made an important announcement on Tuesday about a new smartphone with coveted dual camera setup to join the escalating trend in the market. If you find the iPhone 7 Plus or LG G6 a bit too expensive to experience the dual camera feature, the all-new Nubia Z17 mini has you covered.
The Z17 mini is a mid-range smartphone with premium features, which was launched in China in April. It is priced in India at Rs. 19,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India starting June 12. Interested buyers can pre-register for the device on the company's official website.
Although the Nubia Z17 mini comes in 6GB RAM and 4GB RAM options in China, the company has only launched the base model in India. But the other specifications of the smartphone justify the price tag it has in the country.
The Z17 mini's biggest highlight is its dual camera setup at the back and the capable 16MP front snapper with 90 beauty filters on the front. The rear camera setup is made up of a 13MP Mono sensor and another 13MP RGB true colour sensor, which helps in capturing detailed images with DSLR-like depth-of-field images.
Nubia Z17 mini's camera is complete with the company's proprietary Neo-Vision 6, which further enhances the camera capabilities of the phone. In addition to the Pro and Normal models, the handset has Mono, Times shuttle, refocus and 3D modes to test your photography skills. By combining multi-view and dynamic features, the phone's camera creates an interactive 3D motion picture, which is something not seen in many phones in the market.
While you explore Z17 mini's camera capabilities, the phone is capable of keeping your charged throughout your journey. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset, which is paired with 4GB RAM and has 64 gigs of storage onboard. The phone is also capable of delivering high-speed internet browsing, downloading and uploading experience, thanks to the 2.4G/5G dual-band WiFi support.
Nubia Z17 mini has a 5.2-inch Full HD display encased within the 7.45mm slim metal profile. The handset features a fingerprint scanner at the back of the device and has a 2,950mAh battery, which the company claims can last up to 2 days.
"Nubia is committed to setting new performance standards for every product and inspire creative expression of India's next generation. We are committed to drive and deliver changes in mobile photography across the globe and in India, with Nubia Z17 Mini we are raising the bar high for a mobile phone camera and are confident that users across India will accept and appreciate the device," Eric Hu, Country Head, nubia India, said in a statement.
The rising popularity of dual cameras has introduced a new love for photography. But the setup is usually found on premium flagships such as iPhone 7 Plus and LG G6. Even if customers want a budget flagship, there are options like Xiaomi Mi 6, but the phone is yet to be released in India.
With this trend, Nubia's Z17 mini is an affordable option for those who want to explore the dual camera experience on a smartphone without breaking any savings. It remains to be seen how great the handset's camera setup is, but the specifications seem quite impressive.
