The Hungarian-born Hollywood actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor died on Sunday, December 18, of a heart attack at the age of 99.
The actress was renowned for her large personality, her eight marriages to wealthy men, her reputation for expensive taste and her grandiose diamonds-and-furs lifestyle. She made a place in Hollywood by spending decades as a socialite in California and appearing in more than 30 movies and TV shows. Intriguingly, she often portrayed herself in these movies, as a larger-than-life character.
Gabor even won a special Golden Globe award for the being the most glamorous actress in 1958. She was also known for her self-parodying jokes and her colourful take on romance, men and marriage.
