Following the success story of Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei, another Chinese smartphone brand Zopo is debuting with its mid-budget smartphone, dubbed Speed 7, in India.

The handset will be launched on 26 August, 2015 in New Delhi.

Zopo has already announced ADCOM (Advance Computers Pvt Ltd) as its Indian distributor through whom they will sell the handsets both offline and online, FoneArena reports.

The Zopo Speed 7 boasts of a 5-inch display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution and comes powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor with Mali-T720 GPU. The device is backed by 3GB RAM and 16GB built-in memory, expandable up to 64GB through micro SD card.

The Speed 7 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and offers dual SIM along with 4G-LTE/ 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Powered by a 2,500 mAh battery, the Speed 7 measures 146.1×70.6 x8.65mm and weighs 150g. On the camera side, the Speed 7 houses a regular 13.2 MP snapper with LED flash on the back and a 5MP camera sensor on the front.

The Zopo Speed 7 comes in black and white colour variants and is expected to be made available through Snapdeal.com for Rs 12,999 in India.

For the price, the biggest competitor of Speed 7 would be Xiaomi's Mi 4i, which is available for the same price. Other potential competitors would be Moto G (2015), Lenovo K3 Note and Meizu M2 Note.
