Sweden legend, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finally confirmed that he will be wearing the David Beckham shirt, honouring the bet he had made with the England legend before the quarter-final clash between England and Sweden at the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
Ibrahimovic, who is the all-time top scorer for Sweden with 62 goals, had challenged Beckham to a wager depending on the result of the game between the two countries.
The former England captain also took to Instagram and responded:
@iamzlatanibrahimovic if @swemnt win I will personally take you to @ikeasverige and buy you what ever you need for the new mansion in LA @lagalaxy, but when @england win I want you to come watch an @england game at Wembley wearing an England shirt and enjoy fish & chips at half time ...
England managed to beat Sweden in the quarterfinals and secured a berth in the semi-finals.
And, now true to his character Zlatan has taken to Instagram and said that he will honour the wager made before the clash.
Zlatan speaks about the wager
"I'm coming to Wembley to watch England game in the England shirt and eat fish and chips," said Zlatan.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Zlatan also spoke about his own time at Old Trafford.
"When I was ready, I said to myself 'I am not there.' They had a Zlatan before. After, I was not ready to be that Zlatan. I was selected in many of the games but I told the coach: 'Listen, I am not ready. I don't want to disappoint you.
"The respect I have for my team-mates and the coach. Select someone else who can do the job better.' I stood up and did it, even if I am Zlatan," the legend added.
Every time I put on my football shoes, I am enjoying the moment because after the bad injury I had there were not many hopes I could play again.
Both Ibrahimovic and Beckham did play together at Paris Saint-Germain and the camaraderie is palpable.
