KGF vs Zero box office battleTwitter

Zero and the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 1 have shown good spoke in their collection at the Indian box office, but the growth of Yash is a notch higher than that of Shah Rukh Khan's film.

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer was released in 4,380 screens on December 21 amid huge hype and promotions and opened to decent occupancy everywhere. But the mixed word of mouth took a toll on its collection over the weekend.

As is the trend, Zero witnessed over 50 per cent decline in its collection on Monday. Trade experts predicted that Christmas holiday would boost its collection on Tuesday.

The Anand L Rai-directed film did witness growth, but it was not up to the mark. Zero collected Rs 12.75 crore net at the Indian box office on Tuesday, taking its five-day total to Rs 81.32 crore net.

Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Zero witnessed growth on Day 5 [#Christmas]... Day 6 [Wed] and Day 7 [Thu] biz crucial... Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr, Sun 20.71 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 12.75 cr. Total: ₹ 81.32 cr. India biz."

On the other hand, the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 1 was released in 1,500 screens and debuted with an average response on Friday. Having struck a chord with the viewers, the movie went to show decent growth over the weekend. Its business dropped on Monday, but it much bigger than its first-day collection.

The Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 1 collected Rs 4.35 crore net at the Indian box office on Tuesday and its total collection has reached Rs 16.45 crore net in the domestic market in five days.

Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#KGF continues its upward trend... Day 5 [#Christmas] is bigger than Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4, which is a rarity... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr, Sun 4.10 cr, Mon 2.90 cr, Tue 4.35 cr. Total: ₹ 16.45 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version."

However, The Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 1 is expected to keep rocking the box office and cross Rs 20 crore net mark at the Indian box office by the end of its opening week. But its run in the second week will depend on the word of mouth for Ranveer Singh's Simmba, which is set to hit the screens on December 28.
