Director Aanand L Rai's Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, has been keeping the fight going even after underperforming in its opening weekend. The movie, which has been struggling to put a strong total, remained steady on the 6th day of its release which can be touted as a sign of improvement.
The movie, which had managed to collect 59.07 crore over its opening weekend, witnessed a massive drop on Monday raking in merely Rs 9.50 crore. However, on Tuesday, it showed growth in its occupancy and collected Rs 12.75 crore, taking box office collections to Rs 81.32 crore on day 5.
On Wednesday (day 6), the movie witnessed a similar occupancy as that of Monday and did a steady business of over Rs 8 crore (approximately), according to early estimates. However, it's inching closer to Rs 100 crore mark, analysts say.
Zero will now have to maintain its pace at the domestic box office to put a strong total in its collections.
The overall screen counts and shows will decline in its second week considering the release of director Rohit Shetty's mass entertainer Simmba this Friday (December 28) which stars Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood in lead roles. The overall box office collection of Zero is likely to get affected by the new movie release.
It remains to be seen if Zero keeps fighting the box office battle or will get toppled easily by Simmba in the days to come.
