The movie Zero has had a disappointing start at the box office. While the film has had a decent but below expected collection on opening day, its business surprisingly witnessed no growth over the weekend.
Shah Rukh Khan's Zero collected Rs 20.14 crore at the Indian box office on Friday. It was way below the expected figure as early predictions had stated that the movie would earn around Rs 30 crore on first day.
While most of the movies witness a hike in collection over weekend, Zero suffered downfall in business on Saturday. The movie earned Rs 18.22 crore at the domestic market on Saturday.
While it was being expected that Zero would witness an upward trend on Sunday, the film failed to register a growth on day 3. On Sunday, Zero collected Rs 20.71 crore at the Indian box office taking its total to over Rs 59.07 crore.
"#Zero has clearly underperformed... Remained on similar levels over the weekend... No turnaround / big jump in biz... #Christmas holiday [tomorrow] should boost biz... Real test on Wed and Thu... Fri 20.14 cr, Sat 18.22 cr, Sun 20.71 cr. Total: ₹ 59.07 cr. India biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Zero was one of the most anticipated movies of this year, and hence, it was expected that the movie would cross Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in its first three days. However, owing to the negative reviews from critics, the movie performed below expectation.
Considering current trend, Aanand L Rai's Zero will certainly suffer major fall in its business on Monday, but the earning may again rise on Tuesday due to Christmas holiday. Nonetheless, it looks like Zero will struggle to even reach Rs 100 crore mark in coming days.
