ASUS is planning on launching its upcoming smartphone at a big event. Through a third teaser mail about its anticipated mystery smartphone, the ZenFone maker has challenged Xiaomi in its own way.
The one-line-long e-mail reads: "'ASUS ZenFestival 2015 at Delhi' will 'celebrate the Zen in you'! The upcoming event will be held at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, Delhi and offer much more than your imagination. All are invited."
A consumer electronics launch event usually takes place at a luxury hotel in the presence of media. But, it was Xiaomi, one of the most successful smartphone makers, who threw its budget smartphone Mi 4i launch event at Siri Fort Auditorium. They had also invited 1,500 Xiaomi fans for the event along with the media.
But, the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium is a lot bigger than the Siri Fort Auditorium and the "all are invited" hints that its ZenFone fan community may also attend the event. Before launching its ZenFone 2, ASUS had invited its forum members. The initiative brought positive results and helped ZenFone 2 to achieve a tremendous sales figure.
Although ASUS is still tight-lipped about the specification of its upcoming device, they tipped to feature an ultimate design and photography experience. ASUS has also tipped to bring a device, which is perfect from inside and outside.
The tips hint the device will be quite similar to ZenFone Selfie, which was released at the Computex 2015 event.
ZenFone Selfie offers a decent build quality and is available in several colour options, including Chic Pink, Aqua Blue, Pure White, Glamour Red, Osmium Black and Sheer Gold.
The ZenFone device boasts a 5.5-inch display with TruVivid Technology and offers 1,080x1,920 pixel resolution. Powered by a Snapdragon 615 SoC, the ZenFone Selfie offers two RAM and storage variants. The 2GB RAM edition comes with 16GB storage, while the 3GB RAM edition pairs 32GB of storage. Running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, the device features a 3,000mAh battery.
ZenFone Selfie will have 13mp rear and front cameras, hence, justifying its name. With an aperture of f/2.2, the front camera would be decent enough to impress the selfie aficionados.
