Here is some bad news for Zee TV's "Jodha Akbar" fans. The buzz is that the popular show might be pulled off air soon.
From the very beginning, "Jodha Akbar" has been ruling the TRP charts. However, of late, the show has been experiencing drastic falls in the ratings, forcing the makers to consider the idea of shutting it down.
Besides, the drop in ratings, there were reports that Ravi Bhatia, who plays Salim in the show, is likely to get replaced by another actor.
Further, lead actress Paridhi Sharma's (Jodha) contract is expiring soon, which is another reason why the makers are planning to pull off the show.
"The serial has seen its share of controversies as well. Now, the Salim's character is yet to find a tune with the masses and also Paridhi aka Jodha's contract is expiring soon. On top of that, the numbers have also dipped quite a bit over time. So all these points have led to the idea of pulling the plug off the project," a source told Telly Chakkar.
An actor from the show said, "We have been hearing this buzz for quite some time but not really clear about the future. Only time will reveal the final outcome. We are prepared for whatever happens."
"Jodha Akbar" is a 16th century love story and a political marriage between Mughal emperor Akbar (played by Rajat Tokas) and Rajput princess Jodha.
However, the show has been under the scanner for transforming a historic period into a TV series. It has drawn a lot of controversies especially from the Rajput community.
