While he's best known for his lectures on comparative religion, Zakir Naik has also developed a range of smartphones called the Peace Mobiles. The Peace Mobile 2 is the most recent version of the device and is reportedly the "world's only authentic Islamic Android smartphone."
The device, launched in 2014, comes preloaded with over 50 authentic Islamic apps and 200 ringtones and nasheeds. It reportedly also offers over 80 hours of Naik's lectures and 100 pieces of Islamic art that can be set as wallpapers.
The phone supports Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. The five-inch smartphone also features an 8MP camera, a 2,000mAh battery and a 32 GB microSD card that stores all the data mentioned above.
According to the phone's website, the Peace Mobile 2 smartphone "has been designed to teach this religion of peace and be a powerful day to day tool for practicing Muslims all over the world."
Priced at $215, with an additional $20 shipping charge, the device also reportedly comes with a 12-month warranty backed by Peace Mobiles' extensive distribution network in the Gulf along with its distributors in Africa and Asia.
Peace Mobile also sells the microSD cards that come bundled with the Peace Mobile 2 to users in India directly. The 16GB card comes preloaded with over 50 of Naik's lectures, and over 100 hours of his videos in English as well as Urdu. The memory card is priced Rs. 500.
