ZAGG's ifrogz FreeRein Reflect is quite unlike the Bluetooth-based headphones available in the market, which are known to be sub-par in terms of sound quality as compared to the in-ear headphones. During the one week that we spent using ZAGG's ifrogz FreeRein Reflect, we found that the device does as promised.
ZAGG's ifrogz FreeRein Reflect Bluetooth headphones are out in select regions of the world. It costs $49.99 in the U.S (on ZAGG) and Rs. 3,299 (on Amazon) in India.
Here's my take on the ZAGG's hands-free ear-piece.
Feel and look:
Like all previous iFrogz headphone series, FreeRein Reflect too comes with visually-appealing ergonomic design. The material used in the gadget is of high-quality, made of sturdy plastic with matte finish giving it a premium feel. It is flexible as well. It comes with an expandable option and sits comfortably on the ears no matter how different the head size is.
The cushion pad is smooth and soft, and the users would be able able to watch a three-hour movie on a laptop without feeling any irritation.
User-experience:
We tested the ifrogz FreeRein Reflect with all possible music genres to find any differences, but we were pleasantly surprised at the consistency in its performance. We could hear music with clarity with no hint of distortion in the singer's voice and the sound of the accompanying instruments.
As far as the Bluetooth connection is concerned, ifrogz FreeRein Reflect is very quick in pairing with any multi-media device.
It comes with a built-in multi-functional volume wheel on the right side of the head-phone. It took us just a couple of minutes to master the operation of the headphone. During the entire test period, it never failed in any functions.
It takes little over an hour to get fully charged, and we were able to use it for three days with an average session of three-and-a-half hours. The Bluetooth connectivity is quite strong, as one can freely move about in one's apartment without any break in connection. That's pretty impressive for a budget hands-free headphone.
It also fared well when connected to an Android phone. We were able to easily switch between taking calls and getting back to play music, thanks to the multi-utility volume wheel.
Verdict (4/5):
For the price, it offers really good sound quality and user-experience. Those planning to buy a cost-effective headphone can go for ZAGG's ifrogz FreeRein Reflect headphone (Bluetooth); you will not be disappointed.
