It's homecoming for Yuvraj Singh! After undergoing treatments for a rare cancer in the United States, he will return to India on Monday.
"Finally the day has come ! i am going home tomorrow ! can't wait , excited to see my friends and family ..see you india!! mera bharat mahan !" tweeted 30-years-old cricketer.
The young Indian batsman was diagnosed with a rare germ cell cancer at a very initial stage early this year when he was at the peak of his cricketing career.
Following the detection of the tumor, he was flown to Boston for the treatment and was thrice put on chemotherapy. Yuvraj Singh continued to maintain is fortitude in fighting cancer, which helped him recover as fast as possible.
As he underwent treatments, the ace batsman kept himself active on social networking sites. He took to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to thank people who wished for his quick recovery.
Doctors attending on Yuvraj said that he might get back into his practice shoes around May. However, he may not me in full action till the end of 2012.
Yuvraj Singh bagged four man of the match awards in the World Cup last year. He took 15 wickets and batted over 350 runs.
Singh expressed displeasure that he was diagnosed with cancer when he was at the peak of his career. Meanwhile, he said he was happy that the problem was detected at the early stage.
"Only 20 percent of people survive cancer in today's world. So very happy that I got a nod from my doctor," said visibly fit and confident Singh in a video posted on YouTube. He enthusiastically added that he was doing good and looking forward to playing for India.
