Micromax subsidiary YU Televentures Ltd on Sunday evening released a new video teaser of the company's upcoming flagship Yunicorn, revealing the device's key design elements and release details.
In the 15-second clip, we see the device featuring a white Yunicorn and a gold-coated frame and shell. It houses a front camera on top left corner, below a 3.5mm audio jack.
The phone also features a physical home button below the display, which many believe will house the fingerprint sensor.
As the video progresses, the device is shown to have two single-grille speakers on both sides of a USB Type C-based port.
On the edge, Yunicorn features a power button and volume rockers one above the other, whereas on the rear it houses a circular camera module, but we cannot know for sure what kind of LED flash it features or whether it will boast laser auto focus.
After giving a brief glimpse on the upcoming device, the company revealed at the end of the video that the Yunicorn will be exclusively made available on Flipkart on the launch day — May 31 — itself.
Other expected features of YU Yunicorn:
From what we have gathered so far, YU Yunicorn is expected to run the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS powered by a 1.81GHz MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755M) octa-core processor with 4GB RAM.
Other details such as display, camera and battery capacity are yet to be ascertained.
YU's flagship phone Yutopia, which was launched in late December 2015, failed to garner interest despite packing top-end specifications as it's Rs. 24,999 price tag was a bit too steep considering the company's previous phones, which were sold for below Rs.13,000.
However, the company has this time promised the new phone will have disruptive pricing.
In the last week's Yunicorn teaser, company founder Rahul Sharma promised that the new device will redefine flagship phones and be competitively priced.
