YSR Congress MLA Kodali Nani, who was arrested on Sunday, has alleged that the police took the action against him at the behest of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, reports said.
Earlier on Sunday, MLA Kodali Nani who is a close-aide of Jaganmohan Reddy, was arrested by the police following a dispute over the vacating of a rented building being used as the YSRCP party's office building in Gudivada.
The police have said that the owner of building lodged a complaint with the police after Kodali Nani, who heads the YSRCP party in Gudivada, refused to vacate the office building and instead got into a fight with the landlord.
Nani was later briefly arrested by the police and was released on station bail.
After securing his release, the YSR Congress leader said that the police arrested him on the directions of Chandrababu Naidu as he had "dared" the CM that he will defeat him in the coming elections in Gudivada.
He added that the Chief Minister Naidu and his TDP followers have now resorted to harassing opposition leaders.
