A youth was shot dead in Gurgaon on Tuesday night following a brawl among a group of people at a cafe.
The youth has been identified as 23-year-old Maurit Jangu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rajesh Kumar told ANI.
The incident took place at around 9:30 pm when a group of unidentified people indulged in a scuffle. The fight turned violent when one of them opened fire. Jangu received three bullet injuries on his head and chest.
The police arrived at the spot after receiving information and the youth was rushed to Columbia Asia hospital where the doctors declared him dead, ACP Kumar told ANI.
Based on the statements of the victim's family and witnesses, the Gurgaon police have registered an FIR against five people on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy. Four people have been arrested so far. According to the initial investigation, the accused are from Dhamapur village.
"The reason behind the brawl appears to be personal disputes," Kumar said. He added that the real reason behind the murder will be clear after the investigation is over.
