Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sachin Pilot and a few other Congress MLAs were injured in a lathicharge by the Jaipur police for staging a protest against the Land Bill during the ongoing State budget session on Tuesday.
After the lathicharge, the Congress MLAs protested inside the House against the irrational behaviour of the police. Eight MLAs were suspended from the current budget session for disrupting the proceedings, reported The Indian Express,
Around 30 Youth Congress workers and veteran party leaders were lathicharged for marching towards the state assembly with the intention to gherao the House as a mark of protest.
Legislator Ashok Chandna was also injured in the latchicharge, who later entered the session and showed his injuries annoying the Congress MLAs present there. This resulted in a massive ruckus, as the Congress members protested against the autocratic behaviour of the police.
The Congress members disrupted the budget proceedings prior to Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje's speech with regard to the Governor's address.
Raje is scheduled to present the state budget on 9 March.
This in turn agitated the ruling party who demanded the suspension of the opposition leaders from the rest of the budget session, who had disrupted the harmony of the House.
Following this, the opposition leaders were taken out of the House.
