The entire YouTube bunch has been busy with picking up Teen Choice Awards, attending YouTube fanfest conventions, filming new videos that get millions of hits in a matter of days and nabbing talk shows. However, it is the blue-eyed Australian YouTuber Troye Sivan, who has managed to not only make a song that catapulted to #1 on Billboard immediately upon release, but also come out with a video, that everybody is speaking of.
His single "Happy Little Pill" was debuted on 23 July and has grabbed much attention and love, which is evident from the various covers, reviews and reposts.
Sivan, who played a young Hugh Jackman in the 2009 "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", first announced his EP "TRXYE" in June, when he signed a deal with EMI Australia that will be released on 15 August.
He told the audience at VidCon 2014 during the announcement, "I feel like I've put so much of myself online (referring to a 7 August 2013 YouTube vlog, when he came out as gay) to kind of share with all of you guys, and it makes my life. But I've always just kind of felt like there's so much more that I have to give."
"It's just about kind of exposing things that I probably normally wouldn't expose," Sivan elaborated, adding that releasing the five-song EP will constitute "sharing my life in a more personal way than I've ever, ever done before."

After teasing the fans with the Twitter post "who's awake?? i might have something to show you guys sooooon (actually soon this time) #happylittlepillvideo", around 12.46 am on 12 August, Sivan shared the video on tumblr: "SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO FINALLY SHARE THE #HAPPYLITTLEPILLVIDEO WITH YOU. CHECK IT OUT ON MY TUMBLR: http://troye.si/vanHLPVideoTumblr ...".
Melancholy and obscure, the video of "Happy Little Pill" was released on tumblr with the post: "hope you punks like it and share it with your mates and make gifs of the radical owl. Making this video perfectly represent the song and it's message was super important to me, and i hope you guys connect with it as much as i do. Also there is a hot boy in it playing soccer. enjoy!!"
Sivan said at Vidcon that the video for "Happy Little Pill" is about loneliness and the different ways in which people cope with what is happening in their lives. The video shows a lonely girl staring out of a window, a military man taking pensive shower, and a melancholy Sivan throughout.
