Yogaraj Bhat has been staying away from Sandalwood for a while now, except for writing songs for his disciples and he is said to be busy planning for his directorial debut in Bollywood.
It was earlier rumoured that he was in talks with actor Shahid Kapoor for the lead role for his film, but his plans didn't materialize. The ace director, who has been camping and writing script in Mumbai, has now reportedly found a hero.
Bhat has roped in actor Manjot Singh of "Fukrey" and "Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!" fame for the lead role in his film, which is expected to go on floors in February.
"The producer duo of B Suresha and Shylaja Nag will be behind this film, which we had initially called Helmet. But that title is already with someone else, so we will start shooting as an untitled film, till we find something suitable," TOI quoted Yogaraj.
When asked about female lead of the movie, Bhat said that audition for the lead actress is on in Mumbai and the actress would be finalized soon. Among other artists, Prakash Raj and Om Puri will play important roles in the movie, the director added.
The director also admitted that he lost many opportunities to work with some big names.
"I have had to sacrifice a lot to get to this point. There were opportunities to make films with Sudeep and Yash, but I had to forego that. I'm looking forward to make my B-Town debut now" he said.
