Director Yogaraj Bhat and actor Duniya Vijay are in a trouble over their controversial song "PCMB Thete" from their upcoming Kannada movie "Dana Kayonu." Apparently, the track talks about the recent question paper leaks of the Karnataka Pre-University Certificate (PUC) examinations, and mocks those behind it.
Now, supporters of minister Kimmane Rathnakar have reportedly filed a case against Yogaraj Bhat and Duniya Vijay in connection with the song in Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district. Journalist Shyam Prasad has tweeted a copy of the written complaint.
In the complaint, Rathnakar's supporters have claimed the song has hurt them and they are unhappy with the derogatory comments in the number, which are directed at the minister. They feel the song shows Kimmane Rathnakar in bad light even as the investigation over the question paper leak is on. Hence, they have demanded that the song's creators be arrested.
Besides writing the song, Yogaraj Bhat has sung the number along with Duniya Vijay. Chetan Sosca has scored the music for "PCMB Thete."
The Chemistry question paper of the second-year PUC examination was leaked twice ahead of the scheduled date, and this has drawn huge criticism from the public, students' unions and opposition parties. The re-examination is now scheduled for April 12.
"Dana Kayonu" is produced by Kanakpura Srinivas and Srikanth. Priyamani plays the female lead in the Kannada film.
