Indian rapper-composer Yo Yo Honey Singh's drug addiction mystery has taken an interesting twist. Punjabi singer Jasbir Jassi, who was reported to have met the rapper at a rehab centre in Chandigarh, has blamed the media for misquoting him.
According to Jassi's Facebook post, he never met Honey Singh at any rehabilitation centre. Many of his friends and fans have supported Jassi and asked him to take serious action against those responsible for false reporting.
A leading newspaper carried a report in which it mentioned Jassi as saying he met Yo Yo Honey Singh at the rehabilitation centre in Chandigarh a few months ago.
In the past, the buzz was that Singh has taken a break not to spend time with his family but to get treated for his drug addiction at a rehabilitation centre in Chandigarh.
Interestingly, there's another version of the Honey Singh rehab story in which he is told to have slipped into depression due to an incident involving superstar Shah Rukh Khan. During "SLAM! The Tour", SRK reportedly slapped on the 31-year-old's singer's face after which he went into a shell.
Though his family and friends have denied all the rumours, Singh's absence from the industry for a long time has raised eyebrows.
Meanwhile, his song 'Dheere Dheere', which is a remake of the 'Aashiqui' (1990) track, will be released on 1 September. Bhushan Kumar has shot the song in Turkey to pay tribute to the film, which completes 25 years in 2015. Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor feature in the romantic song video.
