Admittedly, this has been one of the busiest years for YG Entertainment. Idol group, BIGBANG released their "MADE" album; iKON made its debut and 2NE1 member CL is in the final stages of her American debut. The media agency promoted some of its biggest acts in 2015 but the latest news reports suggest that the all girl band 2NE1 may not be among the many bands who made their comeback.
Although the kpop band's members, Park Bom, Minzy, Sandara Park and CL dazzled audiences during the MAMA awards, YG Entertainment's CEO Yang Hyun Suk revealed what's in the offing.
During a recent interview, the media mogul dispelled the rumours and speculation that arose after 2NE1's performance. On his part, Yang Hyun Suk said that the all girl band's surprise performance at MAMA was meant as a "surprise present" for fans. He further revealed that the band hasn't planned their comeback anytime soon.
He said, "After MAMA aired, many people were curious about 2NE1's possible comeback, but there are no specific plans yet. It was just a surprise present for fans who have been missing 2NE1 for a long time," reported Allkpop.
Meanwhile, CL's recent solo performance at 2015 MAMA seems to have gained her a loyal fandom, not just in Korea. Singer Lorde recently tweeted that she's "obsessed with CL."
She said, "Obsessed with CL she is so sweet and cool and tough and 100% a star."
